Shrimp Scampi with Spicy Cider-Garlic Butter


  • 1/4 Cup Angry Orchard Crisp Apple
  • 1 lb large U-20 fresh domestic shrimp, shelled and deveined
  • Warm bread of choice
  • 6 Tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 3 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 shallot, minced
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, sliced thin
  • 2 Tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons chopped Italian parsley
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 Teaspoon kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper


Heat grill to medium high heat.

In a grill proof ceramic baking dish, combine the shrimp, cider, butter, garlic, shallot, and jalapeno. Place the pan on the grill and close the lid. Allow the shrimp to cook until they are no longer translucent and the liquid is bubbling, approximately 6-7 minutes.

Remove the dish from the grill and add the remaining ingredients. Stir together and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Serve with warm bread.
